Concept

Project highlight

The concept of the project revolves around using optical illusions in garment construction to create a visual experience that mimics the feeling of being in an illusion. The design aims to alter perception, using print (lines) to make the garment appear as if it has depth and movement, similar to how a room's view can change based on perspective. The project explores how fashion can engage and challenge the viewer’s sense of space, blending art and design to create a unique, immersive experience.

Optical illusion is chosen as the inspiration for this project because it has the ability to challenge and play with our perception of reality. It creates a sense of wonder by altering how we see depth, space, and movement.

Process

Start by sketching the garment and designing the backdrop. Look for techniques and method that create the illusion and lines. Then, Construction of the garment with details after that process of handcraft each line one by one to create the illusion, ensuring they match the final design. The process combines creativity and craftsmanship to bring vision to life in a simple yet detailed way.
